PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to survey the land in Survey No. 103/4 and Survey No. 103/5A, Aladikkumulai Village, Pattukkottai Taluk, Thanjavur District as per the partition deed of the year 1977, as requested by the petitioner in his application dated 24.04.2025 and grant patta as per the application dated 10.03.2025.

The Petitioner applied for survey and grant of subdivisional patta by relying on partition deed dated 21.08.1977.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a partition deed was executed on 21.08.1977 and that 'C' schedule property bearing Survey Nos.103/4 and 103/5A was allotted to the share of the petitioner, who was a minor at that point of time.

3. Learned Special Government Pleader submits that an inquiry would be conducted pursuant to the petitioner's application and that a 2/5

decision would be taken within three months.

4. Learned counsel for respondents 5 to 7 submits that notice should be issued to the said respondents and their objections considered before a decision is taken.

5. In view of the above submissions, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the second and third respondents to initiate action on the petitioner's application by conducting an inquiry. Notice shall be issued to the petitioner, the private respondents herein and any other relevant owners of adjacent lands, and their objections should be considered before a decision is taken. The entire process shall be concluded within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
