ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The petitioner sent a representation, seeking for cancellation of patta in respect of the subject property described in the Writ proceedings. Since the representation was not taken on file, the present Public Interest Litigation came to be instituted.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that the subject land is a Government land and therefore, the petitioner has submitted a representation for cancelling the patta.

3.This Court is of the considered opinion that to cancel the patta, the petitioner has to submit an appropriate application before the Revenue Divisional Officer having jurisdiction, who in turn, on receipt of any such application, seeking cancellation, shall take the same on file, adjudicate the issues and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. 4.With the above observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
