ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by G.R.Swaminathan J.) The petitioner obtained direction against the jurisdictional Block Development Officer for removal of the encroachments. 2.As rightly pointed out by the learned Additional Government Pleader, it is only the jurisdictional Tahsildar who is competent to carry out the removal of encroachments. Therefore, we do not find any ground to keep this contempt petition pending against the Block Development Officer.

3.Be that as it may, it is submitted by the respondent that 3 out of 4 encroachments have already been removed. We direct the Tahsildar, Vedasandur to remove the remaining encroachment as well. 4.With the aforesaid direction, this Contempt Petition is closed.
