O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the 2nd respondent to provide adequate protection to the petitioner, her life and limb on the basis of the petitioner's representation, dated 15.05.2018.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondents would submit that on the complaint lodged by the petitioner, the second respondent police has registered the case in Crime No.9 of 2018 and also completed the investigation and filed a final report and the same has been taken cognizance in S.C.No.55 of 2019 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Srivilliputhur. Thereafter, on the complaint dated 15.05.2018, the petitioner seeks police protection. Now, almost 11⁄2 years have been lapsed and hence, due to the lapse of period, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted now.

3. With the above observations, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to file a fresh complaint on fresh cause of action, if so advised.
