[Order of the Court was made by S.S.SUNDAR, J.] Mr.P.Thilakkumar, learned Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents.
2. With the consent of both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.
3. This writ petition is filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to lay a proper road and arrange drainage facilities, waste management and other basic amenities to the people, who are residing in Ward No.1, Viraganur Panchayat, Madurai District, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 15.07.2023, within the time stipulated by this Court.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner though seeks a positive direction from this Court, having regard to the peculiar facts and circumstances of this case, he requests this Court to issue a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 15.07.2023, within a time stipulated by this Court.
5. Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer that is now sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's representation dated 15.07.2023 and the contentions raised by him, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 15.07.2023 in accordance with law and do the needful as may be feasible with the financial resources the local body has and subject to other preferences.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
