ORDER

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking a direction to the respondents to remove his name from the History Sheet which is being maintained by the 2nd respondent in H.S.No.8 of 2007 by considering his representation dated 19.07.2025.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the criminal cases registered as against the petitioner in S.C.No.137 of 2014 and Spl.S.C.No.53 of 2018 have ended in acquittal by Judgment dated 06.04.2025 and 12.02.2024 respectively. However, the respondent Police has not reviewed the history sheet as already opened as against the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that they were not aware of the Judgment of acquittal passed by the trial Courts. They will place the petitioner's file in the forthcoming review meeting and will take a decision as to whether the history sheet opened as against the petitioner has to be continued or not.

4. This Court considered the rival submissions made.

5. It appears that since the petitioner has involved in two criminal cases, a history sheet has been opened as against the petitioner in the year 2007. The petitioner claims that both the criminal cases in S.C.No.137 of 2014 and Spl.S.C.No.53 of 2018 have ended in acquittal in the year 2015 and 2024.

6. Therefore, this Court directs the respondent Police to take a call on the petitioner's history sheet within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
