ORDER
The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 85, 316(2) of BNS and section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961 in Crime No.42 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail. 1/4
2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner is the husband of the de-facto complainant and the other persons are the in-laws of the de-facto complainant. Further, the de-facto complainant and the petitioner got married on 22.08.2024 at Immanuvel Church, Pavooorchatram in the present of the both the family members and relatives. After the marriage, the petitioner abused the de-facto complainant and demanded dowry from her. Hence, a case has been registered.
3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case and he has not committed any offence. He seeks this Court to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) strongly opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, the nature and gravity of the offence and the specific overt act against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner at this stage.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 28.01.2026 KSA TO 1.The Inspector of Police, AWPS Tirunelveli Rural Police Station, Tirunelveli District.
