PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to pay the petitioner interest at the rate of 18% per annum, the period of delay from 01.02.2023 to 29.10.2024 in paying the amounts paid towards his terminal/pension benefits namely EPF Employee's Contribution, Gratuity, Encashment of Leaves and Commuted Value of Pension within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court and without affecting his right to claim balance amounts towards those benefits. 1/4

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed by a retired employee of the respondent transport Corporation seeking payment of interest for the belated disbursement of the retirement benefits.

2.The petitioner has retired from service on 31.01.2023, and his terminal benefits have been released only on 30.10.2024. The petitioner has sent a representation on 02.06.2025, seeking payment of interest. Since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed. 3.Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to pay 6% interest from the due date till the date of disbursement within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
