O R D E R

This criminal original petition has been filed for quashing the First Information Report in Crime No.266 of 2015 registered on the file of the first respondent for the offences under Sections 294 (b), 323, 324 of I.P.C. r/w. 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Women Harassment Act and Section 3(1)(x) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act.

3. I am of the view that none of the contentions urged by the petitioners' counsel are sufficient to invoke the inherent powers of this Court. It is for the first respondent to investigate the matter and file final report based on the materials gathered by him during the investigation.

4. It is made clear that this Court has not gone into the merits of the matter. The first respondent is not directed to decide one way or the other. It is for the first respondent to take a call in the matter.

5. With these observations, the criminal original petition stands dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
