2. The petitioners are the in-laws of the respondent. The respondent got married to Sankaranarayanan, namely, the son of petitioners 1 and 2 in the year 2011. Their matrimonial home was at Mumbai. The petitioners herein are the residents of Bangalore.
3. It is seen from the record that the petitioners were not part of the shared household. Therefore, the petitioners could not have been proceeded under the provisions of Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act.

4. In this view of the matter, the impugned proceedings stand quashed as far as the petitioners are concerned. Of course it will proceed against the husband of the respondent herein. The criminal original petition stands allowed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
