This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking for a direction to the respondents herein to grant permission and police protection to conduct Kabaddi Tournament under Flood Lights at Kamarjar Ground, Soorankudi Village, Nanguneri Taluk, Tirunelveli District, which is scheduled to be taken place on 26.08.2023 at 08.00 p.m. to 27.08.2023 at 08.00 a.m., in connection with the "8th Thothira Pandigai" of Immaneul Church, Soorankudi Village, Nanguneri Taluk, Tirunelveli District.

2. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that more than fifty two teams are likely to participate in the competition.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submitted that the respondent Police have no objections for providing permission for conducting of Kabadi competition.

4. Considering the same, this Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the respondent Police to consider the arrangements being made by the petitioner for conducting of the Kabadi competition in respect of the hygiene, play grounds, accommodation to the players, toilets, medical facilities like ambulance, food, refreshment etc and on being satisfied only, the respondent 2/4

Police are directed to give permission to the petitioner for conducting the competition until 12.00 a.m., and by fulfilling the guidelines issued vide proceedings in Rc.007301/Genl.I (1)/2019, dated 09.04.2019. In case, if the respondent Police are of the opinion that the conditions are not conducive for conducting of a competition with fifty two teams, the respondent Police are permitted to decline the permission.
