(Order of the Court was made by R.MAHADEVAN, J.) This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to prevent the illegal sand quarrying at Athikulam, Mananur and Utchanenthal - Puthaiyanenthal Villages in Virudhunagar District.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 2/4

submitted that since the validity period of the quarrying permit granted to operate sand quarry in the aforesaid villages had expired in the year 2018 itself and hence, nothing survives in this writ petition for adjudication.
