PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to grant permission and adequate police protection for conducting the Kabbadi Tournament at Government Higher Secondary School, Vagaikulam Village, Tirumangalam Taluk, Madurai District on 19.08.2023 at about 07.00 P.M. and 20.08.2023 at about 06.00 P.M. by considering the petitioner's representations dated 05.08.2023 and 10.08.2023.

This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking for a direction to the respondent Police to grant permission and adequate police protection for conducting the Kabbadi Tournament at Government Higher Secondary School, Vagaikulam Village, Tirumangalam Taluk, Madurai District on 19.08.2023 at about 07.00 P.M. and 20.08.2023 at about 06.00 P.M., by considering the representations of the petitioner, dated 05.08.2023 and 10.08.2023.

2. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that more than sixty four teams are likely to participate in the competition.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submitted that the respondent Police have no objections for providing permission for conducting of Kabadi competition.

4. Considering the same, this Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the respondent Police to consider the arrangements being made by the petitioner for conducting of the Kabadi competition in respect of the hygiene, play grounds, accommodation to the players, toilets, medical facilities like 2/4

ambulance, food, refreshment etc and on being satisfied only, the respondent Police are directed to give permission to the petitioner for conducting the competition until 12.00 a.m., and by fulfilling the guidelines issued vide proceedings in Rc.007301/Genl.I (1)/2019, dated 09.04.2019. In case, if the respondent Police are of the opinion that the conditions are not conducive for conducting of a competition with sixty four teams, the respondent Police are permitted to decline the permission.
