ORDER
The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to consider his representation dated 10.06.2025 within the time stipulated by this Court.
2.Heard the arguments of Mr.T.Palanisamy, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mrs.S.Jeyapriya, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents. By consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 3.According to the petitioner, the property situated in Survey No. 126/1, with an extent of 3 Acre and 13 cents, Kodimangalam Village, Madurai South Taluk, was allotted to the petitioner and two others in a family partition dated 09.09.1961. The patta for the subject stood in the names of the petitioner and two others, namely, Angammal and Chellapa and one third party, prior to the UDR updation in Patta No.649 and during UDR updation, the name of the petitioner and two others, namely, Angammal and Chellapa were deleted. Now patta stands only in the
name of third party, namely, Prokirater K.F Madurai Branch. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner submitted a representation before the respondent on 10.06.025, seeking restoration of his name in the revenue records. The same has not been consiedered. Hence, the petitoner has come before thsi Court.
4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner seeks correction in the UDR records. Therefore, the competent authority to consider such a request is the District Revenue Officer and the petitioner has not submitted any representation before him.
5. In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the third respondent is directed to forward the representation of the petitioner to the competent authority, namely, District Revenue Officer, Madurai, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The said authority shall consider the representation of the petitioner and pass final orders on its own merits, within a further period of twelve weeks, after affording
reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and the person in whose name the patta stands as on today. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
