ORDER

The petitioner's son is a Police Constable, who was deputed duty in a Nationalized Bank. He was found dead in a suspicious circumstances. A case in Cr.No.219 of 2025 has been registered by the fourth respondent. The petitioner on verification, found that the said Bank is fully covered with CCTV and therefore, he has made a request to the Bank to furnish CCTV footages of the particular date and the same 2/5

was not provided by the Bank. Therefore, the petitioner filed the present petition seeking a direction to the respondents to provide the CCTV footages.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the third respondent / Bank submits that CCTV footages, which the petitioner requested, also covers the currency chest and the same cannot be given to the petitioner. It may amount to breach of security. However, the Bank Officials handed over the footages to the fourth respondent for the purpose of investigation. 3.This Court has considered the submissions made on either side and perused the available records.

4.The petitioner's son was found dead in the Bank where he was assigned with duty. A case has been registered in Cr.No.219 of 2025 and the same is pending on the file of the fourth respondent. It is reported that the CCTV footages have been handed over to the fourth respondent. The fourth respondent shall permit the petitioner to peruse the footages for his 3/5

satisfaction to understand the manner in which his son died. Accordingly, this writ petition is closed. No costs. 04.08.2025 gns To 1.Inspector of Police, Karaikudi North Police Station, Sivagangai District.
