ORDER

The instant writ petition has been filed by a Driver of the respondent transport corporation, seeking a mandamus directing the respondents to disburse a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- as loan from his Provident Fund Account to meet out his daughter's marriage expenses, based upon his representation dated 08.08.2024.

2.When the writ petition came up for admission, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents transport corporation pointed out that the petitioner has given only a representation and not a formal application for seeking payment of the above said amount. Therefore, the petitioner has submitted his withdrawal form on 05.09.2024, seeking to withdraw a sum of Rs.5,00,000/-.

3.According to the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, the petitioner would be eligible to receive only 50% of the available amount and not more than that. According to him, the petitioner is having only Rs.6,00,000/- in his account.

4.Considering the above said facts, the respondents transport corporation are directed to consider the application of the petitioner and disburse the eligible 50% amount to the writ petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
