Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to protect the life of the Petitioners husband by name Baskar @ North D Baskar son of Kanagaraj aged about 35 years now confining at Cuddalore Central Prison from fake encounter or custodial death or by way of any other suspicious manner in accordance with law. ORDER

(Order of the court was delivered by G.R.Swaminathan, J.) The petitioner's husband (Baskar @ North D Baskar), S/o.Kanagaraj is a life convict (Convict No.17320). He is presently incarcerated in Cuddalore Central Prison. He is said to be wanted in several cases. The petitioner apprehends that there will be threat to her husband's life and that he may be killed in fake encounter. 3/7

2.To allay the same, we direct the respondents to enable participation of the petitioner's husband in the proceedings through video conferencing mode. Of course, this is subject to any direction that may be given by the trial Court to appear in person. 3.This writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
