ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed, invoking Section 528 of B.N.S.S., seeking orders, to direct the second respondent to give adequate police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and his family members on the basis of the petitioner's representation, dated 21.08.2024.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today (i.e.03.09.2024), the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the State would submit that the petitioner and the third respondent are neighbors; that the petitioner has given a complaint against the third respondent and on that basis, CSR.No.268 of 2024 came to be registered and after enquiry, the same was ordered to be closed; that subsequently, the petitioner has given another complaint and on that basis, Crime No.73 of 2024, dated 15.06.2024 came to be registered and that thereafter, the petitioner has given another complaint against the third respondent and on the basis of which, FIR came to be registered in Crime No.95 of 2024 on 05.08.2024 for the alleged offences under Sections 296(b), 109(1), 351(3) of BNS and Section 3 of TNPPDL Act. He would further submit that the third respondent was arrested and released on bail day before yesterday.

3. Considering the above, the second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 21.08.2024 and take a decision within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. 03.09.2024 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes / No das To 1.The Superintendent of Police, Thoothukudi District, Thoothukudi.
