The petitioner /wife has filed this Habeas Corpus Petition to produce the body of her husband, who went missing from 21.06.2022.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing Mr.P.Veerabagu, [Phone No.94981 94614] the Special Sub-Inspector of Police, Tuticorin South Police Station, was present before this Court. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that based on the complaint given by the petitioner, a current paper was initiated and in the course of

enquiry, the mobile number of the husband was traced and when the SubInspector of Police spoke with him, it was ascertained that he is now staying at Chennai and working there. It was further submitted that the husband has informed the Police that he will come to the Police Station in two days.

3. In view of the above, the respondent police is directed to take the statement of the petitioner as well as the detenu and depending upon the result of the enquiry, it shall be recorded and the current paper shall be closed.
