ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to disburse the legal fees of the petitioner based upon his representation, dated 11.11.2014.
2. According to the petitioner, he was appointed as a Standing Counsel of the third respondent herein on 30.10.1996 and he has appeared on behalf of the third respondent in all the Courts in Thanjavur as well as in Madurai Bench of Madras High Court. The tenure of his appointment was extended by way of an order, dated 11.10.1999. He had appeared as a Standing Counsel for the third respondent corporation till 29.11.2011. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner's legal fees have not been paid for so many years and for the said claim, the petitioner has sent a representation on 11.11.2014, which has also been acknowledged by the third respondent. 2/5
3. Per contra, the learned counsel for the third respondent herein contended that the claim relates to the period of the year 1999 onwards and hence, files have to be traced out. He has further contended that even for the settled amount, for the second time the claim has been made by the writ petitioner.
4. The petitioner has been appearing as a Standing Counsel for the third respondent herein and legal fees for the said appearance so far not been settled by the third respondent. In the interest of justice, I hereby direct the third respondent herein to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 11.11.2014 and settle the legal fee bill as per the norms. The third respondent shall consider and pass orders within a period of Eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands allowed. No costs.
