2 W.P.(MD)NO.20271 OF 2015 Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to grant permission to the petitioner society to replace Dr.B.R.Ambedkar stone statue with bronze medal situated in Kovilpatti-Ettayapuram main road as per G.O.Ms.No.248, Rural Development (C2) Department, dated 23.11.1998 by considering and disposing the application made by the petitioner society on 05.01.015 within the stipulated time as may be fixed by this Court.

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. A statute of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar is located in KovilpattiEttayapuram main road. The petitioner is a registered society. They want to replace the existing stone statue with bronze statue. They had already given an application in this regard. They want the same to be considered.

3. I refrain from issuing any positive direction.

4. The learned Government Advocate states that the statue is being currently maintained well. It is also not known if the petitioner represents all the stakeholders. Since the second respondent is cognizant of the petitioner's request, it is entirely open to the second respondent to take a call in the matter. It is open to the petitioner to persuade the second respondent to recommend their application for eventual consideration by the Government.
