The petitioner has filed this writ petition for a mandamus to direct the 5th respondent to reimburse the medical expenses of a sum of Rs.81,769/- for the treatment undergone by the petitioner in the year 2019 at Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre, Madurai. 2/5

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondent No.1 and the learned counsels for the respondents 2 to 5.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a beneficiary under the NHIS and for the surgery of the petitioner at Meenakshi Mission Hospital, she incurred a sum of Rs.81,769/-. When she has sought medical reimbursement in the year 2019 from the respondents, the same has not been considered and hence, the petitioner is before this court.

4. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that the petitioner has been sanctioned with the eligible amount of Rs.28,000/-.

5. However, it is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner has not been issued with any orders in respect of the rest of the claim.

In view of the above, the respondents are directed to pass a reasoned order as to why the rest of the claim of the petitioner has not been considered and furnish a copy of the same to the petitioner. On receipt of the same, the petitioner can invoke the statutory appeal remedy, if she is so advised.

7. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
