O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE] Prayer in this writ petition is to direct the respondents 3 to 5 to pay the remaining 20% compensation as fixed by the second respondent for the year 2016-2017 to the petitioner and other farmers in the Thottamangalam Village, Ramnad District and further direct the respondents to formulate a proper system with safeguards for disbursement of the insurance claims to the farmers of Thottamangalam Village.

2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, learned counsel appearing for the second respondent, on instructions, submitted that, based on the report of the District Collector / third respondent, the petitioner's request for payment of crop insurance amount has been rejected by the second respondent / Insurance Company.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that if that be so, no rejection order has been received by the petitioner sofar to take further course of action.

4. In view of the above, we direct the respondents 2 and 3 to serve a copy of the rejection order to the petitioner, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order enabling him to take further course of action, if he so desires.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. [D.K.K., A.C.J.] [M.S.Q., J.] 06.09.2024 NCC :
