The present Writ Petition is filed praying for a Mandamus, directing the second respondent to fill up the post of Non Hereditary Trustee of Arulmighu Arasakatha Pidari Temple situated at Thiruverumbur, Trichy District in the light of the proceeding of the second respondent dated 25.07.2024.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the second respondent has issued a notification dated 15.06.2024 calling for applications from eligible persons to fill up the post of Non Hereditary Trustee for the aforementioned temple. In response to such notification, the petitioner has submitted his application within the prescribed time. Since no steps have been taken so far, the present petition is filed.
3. It is submitted by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents that the Assistant Commissioner would 2/5
have to appoint the Board of Trustees from the panel of persons prepared by the District Committee constituted under Section 7-A of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act. It is further submitted by the learned Additional Government Pleader that presently there is no coram of the District Committee in terms of Section 7-A of the Act and the petitioner's application will be scrutinized and the post of non-hereditary trustee would be filled within a period of two months of constitution of District Committee in terms of Section 7-A of the Act, which is acceded to by the learned counsel for the petitioner.
