Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to alter the date of birth of the petitioner as 13.03.1974 instead of 18.03.1972 in the service register by considering the petitioner's application dated 28.06.2025 in accordance with Section 59 of Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016 within the time period stipulated by this Court.

The present Writ Petition has been filed by a P.G.Assistant Teacher, seeking Mandamus, directing the authorities to alter the date of birth by considering his representation dated 14.06.2013. 2/5

2. A perusal of the records reveal that the petitioner herein was appointed as a P.G.Assistant Teacher on 10.06.2013. In the service records his date of birth is entered as 18.03.1972. However, according to the petitioner, his correct date of birth is 13.03.1974 as per the Birth Certificate. Hence, he has given a representation to the authorities on 14.06.2013, seeking alteration of date of birth. A reminder has also been sent by him on 28.06.2025. So far, no orders have been passed by the second respondent. Hence, the present writ Petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

4. Considering the above said facts, the second respondent is directed to consider the application of the petitioner dated 14.06.2013 and forward the same to the first respondent for conducting proper enquiry within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/5

5. With the above said observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
