ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioners/Accused, apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offence punishable under Section 4 of Tamil Nadu prohibition

of Charging Exorbitant Interest Act, 2003 and Section 294(b) and 506(i) of IPC in Crime No.not known of 2023 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that on 11.01.2021, the defacto complainant borrowed a sum of Rs.2 Lakhs from the petitioners. On 07.08.2023, the defacto complainant poured kerosene on her in front of the Collector Office campus, Theni, stating that the petitioners are demanding exorbitant interest from him. Hence the complaint.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners are innocents, they have not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. They have been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, seeks for the relief of anticipatory bail.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) would submit that no FIR has been registered sofar. Enquiry is still pending in this case. The Superintendent of Police, Theni, has given a direction to the respondent police to complete the process of enquiry within a period of seven days.

5. Let the petitioner appear before the respondent and co-operate the enquiry. If any trouble arises, during the course of enquiry, the petitioners may work out their remedy through appropriate proceedings.
