ORDER

The writ petition has been filed for a mandamus to direct the respondents to transfer the electricity connection in the petitioners' name for SC.No.45(Agriculture Service) for the agricultural land situated at SF.No.261/7 in perungudi Village, Tirupparankundram Taluk, Madurai based on the petitioners' representation dated 22.03.2024 and 23.07.2024 within a time frame as stipulated by this Court.

2. By consent of both sides, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 2/5

3. It is the case of the petitioners that the petitioners' father has obtained agricultural electricity service connection in SC No.45 in S.Nos. 283/4A and 283/4D. Later, the said land has been acquired by the Airport Authority of India. Therefore, in order to transfer the existing connection to their nearby land, the petitioners sent a representation to the respondents. Since the same has not been considered so far, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. I have considered the rival submissions and perused the materials available on record.

5. Considering the limited scope of the matter, without going into the merits or the contention of the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass orders transferring the service connection on its own merits. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that the shifting charges shall be borne out by the petitioner. 3/5

6. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
