ORDER

The petitioner is the brother of the deceased. The petitioner's sister was given in marriage to the informant in Crime No.428 of 2021 registered on the file of the Tirunelveli Town Police Station for the offence under Section 174 of Cr.P.C. The petitioner's sister committed suicide by hanging herself on 13.10.2021. The grievance of the petitioner is that till date, investigation has not been taken up.

2. The learned Government Advocate submits that since the investigation officer is on medical leave, there was no progress in the investigation.

3. This explanation is unacceptable. If the regular Inspector of Police is on leave, some alterative arrangement ought to be made to carry on with the investigation. The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Tirunelveli Town, is directed to monitor the investigation and ensure that the final report is filed within https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/4
