None appears for the petitioner.

2. I went through the contents of the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition. As rightly pointed out by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, the prayer sought for by the writ petitioner cannot be granted. The policy of the Government is to give patta, if the occupation is an unobjectionable one and the petitioner has been in possession for a given period of time. The petitioner cannot choose his patta site. The petitioner wants this Court to direct the authorities to issue him free house site patta either in Tiruparankundram Taluk or in Nilayoor, Srinivasa Colony, adjacent areas in Madurai District or any other nearby place. I fail to understand as to how such fanciful claim could have been made. The respondent had undertaken an exercise to find out the petitioner but he could not be identified.
