ORDER
This contempt petition has been filed seeking orders to punish the respondent/contemnor under Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 for willful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in Crl.O.P.(MD)No.1944 of 2024 on 08.02.2024.
2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent would submit that in pursuance of directions this Court, the Commissioner of Police, Tirunelveli City has issued a proceedings dated 17.07.2024 communicating the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Palayamkottai Range to supervise the investigation of the case and submit a fortnight report on the progress of the investigation through the Deputy Commissioner of Police, East, Tirunelveli City. He would further submit that in pursuance to the directions of this Court, the Commissioner of Police, Tirunelveli City has already issued a charge memo against the concerned Police under Section 3(a) of the Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Service (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1955 and the same is pending.
