ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The relief sought for in the present Writ Petition is to direct the respondents 4 to 6 to implement the project of the 'Construction of Storm water Drain with Pedestrian Footpath and C.C.Pavement at Sannathi Street' in a proper 2/6

and appropriate manner as per their Estimation Abstract Report by considering the petitioner's representation dated 17.07.2025 within the time stipulated by this Court.

2.It is needless to state that public projects are to be constructed by scrupulously following the standards prescribed and as per norms. Any usage of substandard materials, irregularity, illegality or corrupt activities are to be dealt with only by the competent authorities. However, general direction as such sought for in the present Writ Petition cannot be granted. 3.If at all there is any specific allegation regarding the implementation of the projects, the petitioner is at liberty to give an appropriate complaint before the competent authority for initiation of action. Even in the absence of any complaint, the supervising authority is bound to inspect the project periodically and ensure that construction of storm water drain with pedestrian footpath is done in accordance with the standards prescribed under the scheme or plan. More specifically, the works are to be carried out as per Estimation Abstract Report and the authorities competent are bound to conduct inspection and verify the same. 3/6

4.With the above observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
