ORDER

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The writ petition was originally filed by one Thangappa. He passed away and his son / Vijay has come on record. The petitioner seeks assignment of the petition mentioned land. The stand taken by the respondents is that Thangappa was owning 2.5 acres of land in the very same village and that therefore, he could not have been considered as a landless poor. The learned Additional Government Pleader produced copy of Patta Nos.485 and 502. Vijay is his only son. Therefore, it is not clear as to how the petitioner would be eligible. 2/4

3.Be that as it may, the petitioner is permitted to submit a fresh application before the Revenue Divisional Officer, Pudukottai. If any such application is received for assignment, the same will be considered on merits and in accordance with law.
