ORDER

The petitioner has lodged a complaint on 16.07.2025 and filed this writ petition seeking a direction to take appropriate action on his complaint.

2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the official respondents submits that the complaint of the petitioner appears to be a money dispute and therefore, they have not taken action on the complaint.

3.Once complaint has been received by the respondent Police, they have either to register a case, if the complaint constitutes any cognizable offences or to treat the same as petition enquiry, in order to ascertain as to whether any cognizable offence is made out. If the complaint does not constitutes any cognizable offence, they have to close the same. In this case, the complaint of the petitioner is pending 2/4

from 16.07.2025 without any progress. Therefore, this Court directs the first respondent to issue necessary directions to the respondent Police as to how to receive complaints and to conduct enquiries.
