ORDER

The petitioner has prayed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to shift his electricity service connection No.18 to his another property at Innathukanpatti in Survey No.261/1, on the basis of his representation, dated 29.07.2022.

2.Heard Ms.G.Innisai, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Deenadhayalan, learned Standing Counsel, who takes notice for the respondents. By consent of learned counsel appearing for the parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 3.The case of the petitioner is that he is having properties in S.Nos. 231/1B and 261/1 at Innathukanpatti Panchayat in Thanjavur District. He has electricity service connection No.18 for the agricultural land comprised in S.No.231/1B, for about three decades. Later, the said land was acquired by the Government for extension of prevailing Air Force Station, Thanjavur. An 2/6

award of compensation was passed in his favour, through Award No.22/1995, dated 05.05.1995, by proceedings in R.C.No.135/1991. Now, the petitioner intends to change the above electricity service connection No.18 to his another agricultural land situated in S.No.261/1. The petitioner has also given representations to shift the electricity service connection No.18 to the said land. Finally, he came to know that the electricity service connection stands in another person's name. The petitioner is having all original documents pertaining to the allotment of electricity service connection No.18 in his name. It is a mistake committed by the Office of the respondents by entering a wrong name in the Computer. Finally, the petitioner gave a representation to the respondents on 29.07.2022, enclosing all the relevant documents.

However, the respondents did not take any action to shift the said electricity service connection. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of filing the present Writ Petition for the relief stated supra. 4.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submits that the representation of the petitioner will be considered by the authorities concerned, in accordance with law, within a time frame. 5.
