COMMON PRAYER: Writ Petitions are filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records of the 1st respondent in respect of the impugned proceedings of reference in Proc. No. P1/02-39/2-2023-I and Proc. No. P1/02-39/2/2023-II dated 14.08.2023 and Proc.No.P1/02-39/2/2023-I and Proc.No.P1/02-39/2/2023-II, dated 19.08.2023 respectively and quash the same as illegal and consequently directing the 1st respondent to promote the petitioners to the post of Commercial Tax Officers. For Petitioners : Mr.Ananda Padmanabhan For Respondents : Mr.P.Veerakathiravan Additional Advocate General Assisted by Mr.M.Siddharthan Additional Government Pleader COMMON ORDER These writ petitions have been filed challenging the impugned proceedings in Proc. No.
P1/02-39/2-2023-I and Proc. No. P1/02-39/2/2023-II, dated 14.08.2023 and Proc.No.P1/02-39/2/2023-I and Proc.No.P1/02-39/2/2023-II, dated 19.08.2023 respectively and consequently, directing the 1st respondent to promote the petitioners to the post of Commercial Tax Officers.

The learned Additional Advocate General appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted that the petitioners' cases are under consideration to the post of Commercial Tax Officer in terms of the order passed by this Court in a similar case in W.P.No.24564 of 2023 batch, dated 11.01.2024. He further submitted that since the case of the petitioners is under consideration to the post of Commercial Tax Officer, the writ petitions may be closed.
3. Recording the said submission made by the learned Additional Advocate General on instruction, it is ordered that the respondents shall consider the case of the petitioners for promotion to the post of Commercial Tax Officer without prejudice to their interse seniority within a period of three weeks from today. Further, it is made clear that if the petitioners are not promoted to the post of Commercial Tax Officers within a period of three weeks, then all the writ petitions shall stand automatically revived back. 8/10
4.With the above direction, these writ petitions stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
