PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to provide suitable employment to the petitioner on compassionate grounds based on his qualification and pass such further or other orders as this Court. ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed by the son of the deceased employee of the respondent Transport Corporation seeking to provide employment on compassionate grounds.

2.According to the learned Counsel appearing for the Writ Petitioner, his father was a Driver in the respondent Transport Corporation and he has passed away on 08.05.2009, while he was in service. According to him, the request for compassionate appointment was submitted by his mother and a letter was addressed to the transport Corporation on 06.01.2017, directing his mother to produce the documents. Despite the fact that the petitioner has attained the age of majority and the documents have been submitted, so far, no orders have been passed by the respondent Transport Corporation. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

3.Considering the above said facts, the second respondent herein is directed to consider the request of the petitioner for compassionate appointment and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of 8 (eight) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

4.With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
