ORDER

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The writ petitioner joined the respondent corporation as Conductor in the year 1992. He retired from service on 23.05.2019. Though the respondent issued cheques on 22.01.2021 for the petitioner's retirement benefits, the amount was credited in the petitioner's account on 31.01.2021. 3.It is well settled that for such belated payment, the retired employee is entitled to interest. I, therefore, direct the respondent corporation to pay interest on the belated payment at the rate of 6% per annum as prayed for in the writ petition. The interest amount shall be paid within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.The writ petition is allowed accordingly.
