ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's application dated 18.07.2025 to reissue a passport pending before the first respondent office.
2. The petitioner has been arrayed as an Accused No.2 in an FIR registered in Crime No.204 of 2020 dated 26.10.2020 for offences under Sections 379 of the IPC and Section 21(1) of the Mines and Minerals (Devleopment and Regulation) Act, 1957.
3. The learned Government Advocate for the second respondent submits that a charge sheet has been filed before the Judicial Magistrate, Thiruvadanai on 24.04.2023 and the same has not been taken on file.
4. Considering the same, there can be no impediment in directing the first respondent to process the petitioner's passport application. 2/4
5. Accordingly, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to process the passport application of the petitioner as expeditiously as possible. In case charge sheet is filed, the petitioner shall surrender the passport before the concerned court and thereafter retrieve the same as and when the petitioner proposes to travel abroad by filing appropriate application.
6. The writ petition stands disposed of.
