O R D E R
This Habeas Corpus Petition had been filed by the petitioner seeking production of her husband who was working as Forest Ranger at Andamans complaining that he has been missing from July, 2023.
2. The petitioner had lodged a complaint at P.S.Chatham Police Station, Andamans. The petitioner is also a Government servant working in Military Engineering Services at Andamans. It is stated that she was in the family way of four months when her husband had deserted her and gone away. The respondents had secured the husband of the petitioner and he had appeared in the previous hearing date through video-conferencing. He had suffered some injuries in the leg that we noted in the physical presence before this Court.
3. The husband of the petitioner has come over to the Court today. He complained that owing to personal debts which he had accrued nearly about Rs.1,00,00,000/-, to avoid the pressure of the creditors, who had also taken coercive steps against him, he had left the petitioner.
4. The petitioner complained that since her husband had deserted her, she had been put in a position to repay the debts. She stated that a child was born and the detenu/husband has not even seen the child. She also present in the Court before us.
5. We would refer the matter to the mediation and conciliation Centre of this Court through the Director, Mediation and Conciliation Centre to appoint Mediator or a Conciliator to examine the issues between the petitioner and her husband if the consent and show them a way forward.
6. Since the detenu/Saravanan had been secured, no further orders are required to be passed in this petition and this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed.
