ORDER

Heard both sides.

2.The petitioner's mother was issued with patta for Old S.No.162 part (162/16) in Keelanbil Village. She executed settlement deed dated 12.08.2009 in favour of the petitioner and his brother / Mareeswaran. The petitioner sought issuance of joint patta. Since it was not considered, he filed W.P.(MD)No.590 of 2010. On 20.01.2010, the Thasildar, Lalgudi Taluk was directed to consider the petitioner's representation for issuance of joint patta. Even thereafter, the Thasildar, Lalgudi Taluk did not issue any patta. That led to the filling of this writ petition.

3.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader pointed out that petitioner's mother was issued with 2/4

patta in respect of S.No.162/16. Therefore, the petitioner is not justified in seeking patta for S.No.162/19. I find the said submission to be reasonable. The Thasildar, Lalgudi Taluk is directed to issue joint patta in favour of the petitioner and his brother / Mareeswaran in respect of the land for which his mother was issued with patta. This shall be done by the first respondent within a period six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
