Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, direct the first respondent to sanction Rs.2 Laksh to the petitioner under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme by considering the petitioner's representation dated 17.02.2020 within a period stipulated time by this Court.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to sanction Rs.2 Lakhs to the petitioner under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme by considering the petitioner's representation dated 17.02.2020 within a period stipulated time by this Court.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that under the scheme of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, the petitioner was sanctioned to the work to dig a farm pond to the value of Rs.2 lakhs. While inspecting the same, the Village Assistant/fifth respondent demanded Rs.5,000/- as bribe to sanction the amount. As such, the fifth respondent misappropriated the Government fund. 2/5

Regarding to this aspect, the petitioner sent a representation 17.02.2020 to the first respondent, which, in turn, forwarded to the second respondent. However, so far, no action was taken. Hence, this Writ Petition has been filed.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner dated 17.02.2020 would be considered in accordance with law.

4. In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court directs the respondents 1 to 4 to consider and pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 17.02.2020 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
