ORDER

This Contempt Petition has been filed complaining of wilful disobedience of the order, dated 12.03.2024, in W.P(MD)No.5843 of 2024 by 1/4

the respondent.

2.Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has filed a Writ Petition in W.P(MD)No.5843 of 2024, seeking to direct the respondent to implement the order passed by the Assistant Commissioner of Labour (Enforcement) Authority under TN Industrial Establishments (Conferment of Permanent Status to Workmen Act, 1981), Tanjore, dated 22.05.2023. This Court vide order dated 12.03.2024, directed the respondent to consider the case of the petitioner in line with the order passed by the Assistant Commissioner of Labour (Enforcement) Authority under TN Industrial Establishments (Conferment of Permanent Status to Workmen Act, 1981) dated 22.05.2023 and pass appropriate order in accordance with law within a period of 12 weeks.

Thereafter, the respondent herein has filed another Writ Petition in W.P. (MD)No.17733 of 2024, challenging the order passed by the Assistant Commissioner of Labour (Enforcement) Authority under TN Industrial Establishments (Conferment of Permanent Status to Workmen Act, 1981), Tanjore, dated 22.05.2023. However, this Court vide order dated 18.12.2024, dismissed the said Writ Petition.

3.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the Writ Appeal in W.A.(MD)No.2156 of 2025 has been preferred as against the order passed in W.P.(MD)No.17733 of 2024 and the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court has allowed the Writ Appeal, by quashing the impugned writ order, by order dated 20.08.2025. 4.Recording the fact that the order sought to be implemented in W.P. (MD)No.5843 of 2024 itself is quashed in the Writ Appeal supra, nothing survives for adjudication in this Contempt Petition. Accordingly, this Contempt Petition stands closed.
