O R D E R
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to quash the final report in C.C.No.272 of 2025, on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Vadipatti, Madurai District, filed against the petitioners for the offences punishable under Sections 448, 294(b), 323, 506(ii) and 326 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 r/w. Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002.

The allegation in the final report is that, on account of previous enmity, the petitioners came to the house of the second respondent/defacto complainant, pulled her saree, attacked her with hands, legs and a knife, abused her in filthy language, and committed criminal intimidation, and thus committed the aforesaid offences.
3. Admittedly, the petitioners and the second respondent/defacto complainant belong to the same village and are known to each other. The parties have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus Page No. 2 of 5
to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 12th November, 2025.

The petitioners, namely, (1) Govintha Ammal [Aadhaar No.8095 1845 4127], (2) Ananthi [Aadhaar No.7726 3873 2749], (3) Gopalakrishnan [Aadhaar No.5022 0175 8879] and (4) Yavan Raja @ Yuvan Shankar Raja [Aadhaar No.7757 0059 1476], and the second respondent/defacto complainant, namely, Sudha [Aadhaar No.4823 3631 0042] are present before this Court in person. The parties are identified by Mr.V.Bose, Special Sub-Inspector of Police, Vadipatti Police Station. The second respondent/defacto complainant confirmed the compromise arrived at between them and stated that she does not wish to pursue the case.
5. In view of the same and considering the nature of the offences, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final report in C.C.No.272 of 2025, on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Vadipatti, Madurai District, is quashed. The petitioners shall jointly pay a sum of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand Page No. 3 of 5
only) to the Siddha Unit attached to this Court (A/c. No.10767823177, IFSC Code : SBIN0000898 & MICR Code : 625002601) forthwith and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry. The compromise memo filed by the parties shall form part and parcel of this order.
