This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking for a direction to the respondent Police to grant permission and police protection to conduct Kabaadi Tournament on 20.08.2023 to 22.08.2023 in Pullanthai Village, Keelakarai Taluk, Ramanathapuram District.
2. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that more than sixty teams are likely to participate in the competition.
3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submitted that the respondent Police have no objections for providing permission for conducting of Kabadi competition.
4. Considering the same, this Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the petitioner to submit an application before the concerned police and on receipt of the application, the respondent Police is directed to consider the arrangements being made by the petitioner for conducting of the Kabadi competition in respect of the hygiene, play grounds, accommodation to the players, toilets, medical facilities like ambulance, food, refreshment etc and on being satisfied only, the respondent Police are directed to give permission to the petitioner for conducting the competition until 12.00 a.m., and by fulfilling the guidelines issued vide proceedings in Rc.007301/Genl.I (1)/2019, dated 2/4
09.04.2019. In case, if the respondent Police are of the opinion that the conditions are not conducive for conducting of a competition with sixty teams, the respondent Police are permitted to decline the permission.
