PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to restore the electricity service connection Nos.139 and 39 relating to wells comprised in S.No. 201/1 Keezharajakularaman Village, Vembakottai Taluk forthwith based on the petitioner's final representation, dated 15.04.2025. ORDER

This Writ Petition is disposed of at the time of admission with the consent of the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the respondents.

2. The petitioner states that the petitioner's Electricity service connection Nos.139 and 39 for wells in Survey No.201/1 Keezharajakularaman Village, Vembakottai Taluk were disconnected in the year 2010 and that since 2013, the petitioner has been making repeated representations with the respondents. However, it did not evoke any response.

3. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondents, on the other hand, submits that this Writ Petition is liable to be dismissed on account of laches.

4. Having considered the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents and considering the fact that the petitioner is an agriculturist who has been chasing the respondent for re-connection of the Electricity connection since 2013 and the last of the representation being made on 15.04.2025, I am inclined to dispose of this Writ Petition by directing the second respondent to process the representation of the petitioner, dated 15.04.2025 as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of the receipt of a copy of this order.
