PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. praying to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to give police protection to the petitioner based on his complaint dated 27.09.2019. For Petitioner : Mr.R.M.Makesh Kumaravel For Respondents : Mr.K.Suyambulinga Bharathi No.1 and 2 Government Advocate(Crl.Side)

ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking direction to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to give police protection to the petitioner based on his complaint dated 27.09.2019.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an accused in Crime No. 2 of 2017 for offences under Sections 406, 420, 120(b) of IPC and Section 5 of the TANPID Act, 1997. He was arrested and subsequently released on bail with a condition to appear before the TANPID Court once in a month. Since the offence registered as against the petitioner under TANPID act, the depositors disturb the entire court proceedings and also threatened the petitioner with dire consequences. Therefore he sought for police protection to appear before the trial court to comply with the conditions imposed by the trial court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

3. It is seen that the petitioner is an accused and he was granted bail. He has to appear before the TANPID Court, Madurai to comply with condition imposed by the trial court. To comply with the conditions police protection cannot be granted to the individual. However, TANPID Court, Madurai shall ensure the safety of the petitioner while appearing before the Court from the general public, who deposited money with the petitioner.

4. With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition id disposed of.
