ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking orders to direct the respondent to file a final report in Crime No.67 of 2022 on the file of the respondent registered on 06.05.2022 in accordance with law. 1/4

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that though FIR in Cr.No.67 of 2022 came to be registered on 06.05.2022, the respondent Police has not filed the final report. But, in the counter case, they have already filed the final report and the case was taken on file and trial is in progress.

3.The learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) appearing for the respondent would fairly submit that in the counter case, the charge sheet has already been filed, but, in the present case, they have not even examined single witnesses.

4.Admittedly, it is case and counter case. However, in one case, the respondent police, after completion of investigation, filed the final report, but in another case, they have not even commenced the investigation. Hence, the Superintendent of Police, Madurai is directed to take necessary action as against the erring officials and the respondent is directed to proceed with the investigation and file the final report, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
