O R D E R

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner. Considering the nature of relief to be granted, issuance of notice to the respondent is dispensed with.

2.The petitioner is the complainant in C.C.No.714 of 2018 on the file of the Fast Track Court (Magisterial Level), Karur. It is a private complaint filed under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. The learned counsel for the petitioner points out that as per the statutory scheme, the trial Court must endeavour to conclude the case within a period of six months after it is filed. Though the complaint was filed way back in December, 2018, till date, the accused managed to drag on the matter. The petitioner is a senior citizen.

3.Taking note of all these aspects, I direct the learned Trial Magistrate to dispose of the case on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. I make it clear that the only direction now given is for speedy disposal. No opinion has been expressed on the merits of the matter.
