This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking for a direction to the respondents to grant police permission for conducting protest by "Kanchithotti Thirakkum Porattam" at near Thevar Statue, Nanguneri, Tirunelveli District on 22.08.2023 at about 11.30 a.m., based on the representation dated 27.07.2023.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the buses belonging to the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation are not being stopped at Nanguneri Village and there is no bus stop thereby, number of time the villagers gave representations to the authorities and in spite of assurance given, no orders have been passed by the concerned authorities for stopping of buses, thereby, with an intention to protest, applications have been filed before the respondent police on 27.07.2023 to grant permission, however, the same was not being disposed of, therefore, sought for suitable direction.
3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) submitted that the place where the petitioner intending to stage protest in the area which is communally sensitive and that the petitioner is a leader of one of the community, in case, the petitioner is permitted to stage protest there is a 2/5
possibility of law and order situation thereby, the representation dated 27.07.2023 was enquired into and permission was rejected. It is also submitted that the proceedings of rejecting the request made by the petitioner also communicated to the petitioner.
4. The learned Government Advocate shown the copy of the order, wherein, the petitioner also signed. In view of the fact that the representation of the petitioner dated 27.07.2023 has already been disposed of, no further direction can be passed. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
