consequently direct the respondents 6 and 7 to conduct the temple festival as per the customs for 4 days i.e., on 27.08.2023 Shattuthal festival and temple festival from 03.09.2023 to 05.09.2023.

ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed to quash the order dated 12.08.2023 with a consequential direction to conduct the temple festival as per the custom for 4 days i.e., on 27.08.2023 Shattuthal festival and temple festival from 03.09.2023 to 05.09.2023.
2. The petitioner has sought permission from the official respondents to conduct the festival by following the usual practice of conducting festival for four days. Since there are rival claims, the respondents have conducted the Peace Committee Meeting. In the Peace Committee Meeting, it was decided by the respondents to allow to conduct festival for one day alone. Aggrieved by the same, the present writ petition is filed.

On instructions from the official respondents, the learned Special Government Pleader submitted that since rival claims are there, the official respondents are of the opinion that if permission is granted for more than one day that would lead to law and order problem. Therefore, the official respondents denied the permission to conduct the festival for four days.
4. On hearing rival submissions made by both the parties, this Court is of the considered opinion that if the official respondents did not consider to conduct festival for four days, then they ought to consider atleast for two days. Therefore, this Court directs the official respondents to allow the petitioners to conduct their festival for two days.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
